EMESSA Pharmaceuticals is one of the oldest pharmaceutical companies in Syria, it was founded in 1955 by the industrial registration No.1 in Homs city. Its ownership was transferred in 1997 to a group of pharmacist, chemists and doctors who took it upon themselves to take all the necessary measurements to keep up with the growing development of the pharmaceutical industry in Syria.
The company has acquired the certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), it also acquired the certificates of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
The days went by and the company took distinctive steps in the pharmaceutical industry between 2000-2017, then in 2022 it gained the attention of a group long-experienced investors in the pharmaceuticals industry and its ownership was transferred to the group with the dawn of 2023 beginning.
As the new management vision is the continuous development and improvement of the company’s policy and commitment to the quality standards and the good manufacturing practices in all stages of manufacturing, and in an effort to adhere to the noble ethical and humanitarian message of pharmacy, and to accomplish the main object of the quality practices which is the customer’s satisfaction, the new management worked on producing high quality pharmaceutical products with focusing on the safety and benefit of the working staff, and protecting the environment by controlling the environmental aspects resulting from our activities.
The company is noted for producing a large group of pharmaceutical forms, under the supervision of a distinguish group of pharmacists, chemists and expert hands of technicians, within production lines supplied with the latest machinery and techniques.
The company produces the following pharmaceutical forms:
- Ointments & Creams.
- Suppositories & Ovules.
- Food supplements.
The factory is located in Homs governorate on Homs-Hama Highway, on a wide green land, about 5 km far from the city’s center. The factory building was designed according to the good manufacturing practices, with a covered area of 7.000 square meters and a total area of 11.000 square meters.
